Children & Their Filters (Or Lack There Of!)

Hello lovelies I had a rough night broken night’s sleep againnn. I don’t think I helped my situation as I forgot again to apply my HRT gel. I have also forgotten I have reached my goal of no Pregabalin so of course my sleep was affected. Yippee! From the first time I’d tapered my dosage, each time it affected my sleep the first day.

I make a habit of taking my phone everywhere with me incase I have a fall and need to call for Kev’s help. Anyhoo digressing again.. I was in the bathroom and knocked the phone while in my pocket. I quickly took it out to turn it off and saw it was on Facebook Videos.

Like anyone I enjoy a good belly laugh and seeing Ginger Billy (self titled-not by me!) I thought I’d start it from the beginning.

Well anyone who likes to hear of stories where children unintentionally embarrass their parents loved ones or any adult caregiver. You’ve come to the right place..

Ginger Billy is on Facebook he’s American, and from the deep south and posts videos about his family and the antics they get upto.. Very funny at times and seems to have a big following myself included..

Listen and enjoy… You can almost feel the embarrassment coming through the screen.. I’ve also been in this kind of situation with my youngest who liked to ask questions too… Suffice to say I was belly laughing with tears running down my face.. ❀️

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Happy Holidays… πŸ₯°

Hi ya lovelies just wishing you a wonderful peaceful holidays doing what you enjoy with the people you love.. Or even a day of self care and pampering yourself if you are alone…

What was Christmas like as a child for you? When my parents had the money then we would find a big pile of presents mine in one corner of the room my older sister’s in the next corner.

A window was in between as we lived in a ground floor lower level flats which I shared a bedroom with my sibling.

However I was a child of the 1970s and money wasn’t regular due to my having severe back problems having to take time off to lay on a board on the bed and a collar on his neck. Fortunately his health improved and got help for his back.

But I still remember the feeling of excitement. I was hyperactive and never slept well at night insomnia has been a long term companion.

I was the first to wake up which could’ve been anything from 3 am in the morning. I would always dive out of my lovely big wooden bed and creep down out of the door turning right into a narrow hallway.

Passing the toilet on the right and my parents room on the left with the kitchen door opposite.

Ahead of me was the living room door closed shut. Putting all my 4 year old weight on the handle grasping the handle with both hands while balancing on my toes enables me to open the door.

Usually I would either return to the bedroom whooping and running shouting to my sister to wake up as Father Christmas has been. I noted the mince pie we left for him at bedtime and the carrot for Rudolph along with the drink was gone!

As I got older the plan was as I woke first I was to wake up my sister and I then go and check to see if Christmas had come to us. Then I’d return and report what I saw then she’d get out of bed grab my hand and we’d both return to the living room at the bottom of the hallway.

The first present I remember receiving was a little toy piano it was stunning little piece. Fairly bright red in colour although (for people in the UK or have visited the UK the best likeness was the telephone and post boxes). It was a miniature baby grand piano (the lid didn’t lift and was moulded closed I think? -I will try to find a image of one) with tiny black and ivory keys when played it had a clinky and slightly tinny sound but I cared not one jot.

I fell in love with this little toy and what I could play on it. (Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley was the first song I practiced as my mum was a huge Elvis fan)

As Romani Gypsies music is an intrinsic part of our culture my favourite instrument to play is the piano and any kind of keyboard instruments. I played and learned by hearing then playing the songs I’d hear on the radio. Or when my parents played records on the radio gram. I’d try to play along on the piano.

Later on as we got older I graduated to a organ which had a completely new sounds for me to experience and play with..

However since a small child I was familiar with the Spanish Castanets guitar, playing the Spoons, harmonica or I knew them as a mouth organ. A fiddle, and a piano accordion were instruments my grandad played.

These are also instruments common to the Gypsy culture and my mum’s voice was her instrument too. Anyhoo I digress too much…

What was your earliest positive Christmas experience? As Romani Gypsies well in my family everyone was christened in a church of England church and mum and dad always told us the story of Father Christmas and the stockings you leave on the end of your bed. But if we stayed awake then FC wouldn’t come. The stocking was the big clue that he came and filled our stockings with some satsumas in one of my dad’s socks and a sweetie sometimes if money was good.. ❀️

Cannabis as a Medicine

I’ve found that cannabis as a medicine remarkable. One little plant… it’s leaves when you can get them donated via a friend or compassion club are used in food. Cannabis stems leaves and flowers can be so versatile. They not only benefit the human body, it has so many uses from medicine to clothing textiles to building materials. We’ve found its good for putting CBM’s leaf material into smoothies. Sadly it’s not very often we get donations of leaf material.

As they help with pain aswell as additional fibre, and receiving additional omega’s and other nutritional benefits, vital for homeostasis. It’s also beneficial for Mr Vegan’s and anyone’s health conditions such as diverticulosis and diverticulitis psoriasis Arthritis chronic illness as well as widespread chronic pain.

I am a legal cannabis patient, it is prescribed to me privately via a private pain specialist… I have raw cannabis flowers which relieves pain aswell as having other benefits to my breathing for instance.

I also believe if you can prove you have a clinical need for CBM’s and you can do so you should be eligible for growing your own strain of CBM’s at home. There’s opportunities such as Cancard founded by my friend Carly. However, while Cancard is backed by the police federation and Police Chiefs council.

It is up to the individual officer at the moment whether he or she will pursue charges for cannabis possession and or cultivation. This doesn’t mean that the next time you are approached by the police they may arrest and charge you for cannabis possession and or cultivation.

While I am now legally protected from prosecution and eviction from our home for consuming cannabis medicine via a private legal prescription. I have no intention of stopping advocating for cannabis based medicines. Especially for the people unable to access CBM’s. People assume that you smoke it but there’s many ways to consuming cannabis based medicines.

But it shows you that more and more medical professionals are receptive to Cannabis Based Medicines. I’ve been very lucky each medical professional I’ve approached including the endocrine specialist, have been open minded receptive and a positive response.

My neurologist even knew about the ECS.. As he went on to tell us both about the research he’s been involved with on cannabinoids and knew of sativex via his work at King’s College Hospital London. You can be prescribed cannabis flowers oil and available in other places you may find tinctures and edible products or leaves and flowers used in culinary dishes.

He was very receptive during our consultation and wrote down the details of my repeat prescription as I described exactly what kind of cannabis flowers I was vaping via a vapouriser. This was reflected positively in the consultation about cannabis being highly beneficial for me..

He said he felt cannabis was the future and thanked us for the education on CBM’s and encouraged me and Mr Vegan to continue advocating for cannabis to be accessed from the NHS instead of the black market… I’m inclined to agree cannabis is the future and can help our society and civilization environmentally…β™₯️

ADHD Symptoms | Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder | ADHD Clinic

Morning lovelies as part of my post on ADHD and ADD yesterday I thought Id share this link on ADHD. To be blunt I don’t usually promote private companies that I haven’t had personal experience with.

However, this website explains comprehensively the way ADHD presents itself and the many different symptoms.

You will find many of the symptoms that are symptomatic of ADD with the exception of the Hyperactivity symptom.

So I thought I would post this really good explanation and share this with you..However, if you have the money to pay for a consultation and treatment with this company you are entitled to do so.

However, Id like to make clear that I have no affiliation with this company and have not worked for this company.

In the first instance help is available via your childs school. This is free at the point of access and is part of the NHS Services. You can also approach your gp or/and health visitor if you have one.

In the UK a health visitor is allocated to a child from birth to aged 5 years. A health visitor is usually attached to the GP surgery.

Author’s note;

I have a child who has special additional needs and while she’s grown out of adhd. She has food sensitivities an allergy test done privately at an excellent clinic revealed she was sensitive to E numbers Aspartame Phenylalanine Acesulfame KΒ  and an intolerance to dairy products from

I do have over 20 years training and experience with children from birth to 11 years old. Aswell as being a qualified Childcare Professional. University graduate at level 6, I worked my way up to management. I’m also qualified in Playwork NVQ3 again another management position. As I had more than one job at the same period of time, during my career. I ran creches and managed a Holiday and After School club. Other skills Ive gained during my career is that I specialised in Special Educational Needs and I’m a trained SENCO in the 5 years and under category.

I’ve also got training in other areas such as behaviour management for children who have conditions such as ADHD ADD and ASC known former as ASD Autistic Spectrum Disorder from birth to the age of 11 years old. Including training for children living on the Autistic Spectrum….

What Is ADHD/ADD?

ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder and ADHD for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are very similar Neurodevelopmental conditions. I shall refer to these by their acronyms.

The only and what you may see as the obvious difference is the Hyperactivity part of the disorder.

there is a main group of symptoms that ADD and ADHD share. In the main they can affect a group of behaviours. This occurs from a early age, which can continue into the adolescence and onto an adult. Whether they are at home or elsewhere is irrelevant.

Essentially, ADHD and ADD can have a detrimental effect on school work, relationships with both adults and their peers, aswell as home family life.

Depending on how severe the condition is, ADD or ADHD may be picked up by professionals at a nursery or preschool setting. However it is common for children under 5 to be very active and that tends to settle as they grow older.

It is when children begin school is when some children begin to display symptoms of ADHD or ADD. These symptoms can be for ADHD the inability to sit still and listen. There seem to be different symptoms according to gender.

Unfortunately, boys seem to be diagnosed with ADHD more than girls. According to http://www.gosh.nhs.uk, ”Boys are more likely than girls to be diagnosed with ADHD. However, it is thought that girls may be underrepresented in referrals to ADHD services and ADHD can go unrecognised in girls”

To demonstrate this, The Great Ormand School Hospital in London known as (GOSH) state ”There are several reason for why this might be. One theory is that girls tend to present with more inattentive symptoms than hyperactivity (although not always the case)”

They may be impulsive, struggle to pay attention. It is hard at times to retain information it can appear alongside but not always exclusive to Autistic Spectrum Conditions Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Behavioural Management which can sometimes but not always include Mental Health problems as a consequence.

Help is available through your school, GP, hospital setting where you may see a medical professional. Finally, possibly a health visitor and nursery setting.
