Is Sugar In Fruit Bad For You?

Hello lovelies! when I first started my Reactive Hypoglycemia journey this was a question I had wondered. The endocrine specialist said I was prediabetic so this was the reason it could have possibly triggered Reactive Hypoglycemia in me. However since following the principles of the Diabetes Method and ensuring that all the foods were low and medium (or green and orange) on the glycemic index that were wholefoods and low in fat. I have noticed I’ve been able to improve my insulin sensitivity my last Ha1c was normal. I have been able to up my intake of carbs (carbohydrates) and I’ve had less frequent RH events so while I’m not prediabetic I still have RH however the RH events are less frequent and not as severe as they were.

I don’t seem to have a problem with the amount of fruit and vegetables I eat provided I don’t add fat or refined sugar to them and reducing the amount of processed food has also helped me โ™ฅ๏ธ

Cannabis & Mental Health

Cannabis and mental health is a emotive issue for several reasons to be discussed here.

Thanks to the damage caused by Harry J Anslingers war on cannabis then as history shows as a direct result of Anslinger’s propaganda machine. Of “Reefer Madness” posters, newsmedia of The War On Drugs. The seed of doubt was sown about cannabis and psychosis and that it causes Schizophrenia in anyone that used it.

Then it went from being a medicine for more than a millennium. To being seen as something as harmful to mental and physical health. To anyone who has read about Harry J Anslinger the racist cannotations pertaining to his dislike of people of ethnicity and in particular people of Carribean American African American and Mexican people. This is where the racist slang Marijuana (Mary Jane) came from.

After this it was classed as a dangerous drug then banned in the UK from 1971 with the Misuse Of Drugs Act.. Although there is some evidence that it can effect a very small minority of the population.

There is various scientific evidence that shows cannabis to be efficacious in anxiety PTSD and other mental health issues. There is also a post I wrote a few months ago which I’ll attach here. https://nellythevegan.wordpress.com/2021/11/06/cannabis-the-evidence-for-medical-use-%e2%9d%a4%ef%b8%8f/

There is various scientific information available in the above link regarding Dr Mike Barnes et al that cannabis and the published report pertaining to studies and how cannabis helps people living with many different conditions.

It is used as an alternative medicine for people with cancer. It also helps conditions such as chronic pain including Neuropathy/Neuropathic pain Multiple Sclerosis Epilepsy ADD ADHD and other psychological and neurological conditions โค๏ธ

Please note I will add link to science based evidence as I find them… ๐Ÿฅฐ ๐Ÿ€

ADHD Symptoms | Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder | ADHD Clinic

Morning lovelies as part of my post on ADHD and ADD yesterday I thought Id share this link on ADHD. To be blunt I don’t usually promote private companies that I haven’t had personal experience with.

However, this website explains comprehensively the way ADHD presents itself and the many different symptoms.

You will find many of the symptoms that are symptomatic of ADD with the exception of the Hyperactivity symptom.

So I thought I would post this really good explanation and share this with you..However, if you have the money to pay for a consultation and treatment with this company you are entitled to do so.

However, Id like to make clear that I have no affiliation with this company and have not worked for this company.

In the first instance help is available via your childs school. This is free at the point of access and is part of the NHS Services. You can also approach your gp or/and health visitor if you have one.

In the UK a health visitor is allocated to a child from birth to aged 5 years. A health visitor is usually attached to the GP surgery.

Author’s note;

I have a child who has special additional needs and while she’s grown out of adhd. She has food sensitivities an allergy test done privately at an excellent clinic revealed she was sensitive to E numbers Aspartame Phenylalanine Acesulfame Kย  and an intolerance to dairy products from

I do have over 20 years training and experience with children from birth to 11 years old. Aswell as being a qualified Childcare Professional. University graduate at level 6, I worked my way up to management. I’m also qualified in Playwork NVQ3 again another management position. As I had more than one job at the same period of time, during my career. I ran creches and managed a Holiday and After School club. Other skills Ive gained during my career is that I specialised in Special Educational Needs and I’m a trained SENCO in the 5 years and under category.

I’ve also got training in other areas such as behaviour management for children who have conditions such as ADHD ADD and ASC known former as ASD Autistic Spectrum Disorder from birth to the age of 11 years old. Including training for children living on the Autistic Spectrum….

What Is ADHD/ADD?

ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder and ADHD for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are very similar Neurodevelopmental conditions. I shall refer to these by their acronyms.

The only and what you may see as the obvious difference is the Hyperactivity part of the disorder.

there is a main group of symptoms that ADD and ADHD share. In the main they can affect a group of behaviours. This occurs from a early age, which can continue into the adolescence and onto an adult. Whether they are at home or elsewhere is irrelevant.

Essentially, ADHD and ADD can have a detrimental effect on school work, relationships with both adults and their peers, aswell as home family life.

Depending on how severe the condition is, ADD or ADHD may be picked up by professionals at a nursery or preschool setting. However it is common for children under 5 to be very active and that tends to settle as they grow older.

It is when children begin school is when some children begin to display symptoms of ADHD or ADD. These symptoms can be for ADHD the inability to sit still and listen. There seem to be different symptoms according to gender.

Unfortunately, boys seem to be diagnosed with ADHD more than girls. According to http://www.gosh.nhs.uk, ”Boys are more likely than girls to be diagnosed with ADHD. However, it is thought that girls may be underrepresented in referrals to ADHD services and ADHD can go unrecognised in girls”

To demonstrate this, The Great Ormand School Hospital in London known as (GOSH) state ”There are several reason for why this might be. One theory is that girls tend to present with more inattentive symptoms than hyperactivity (although not always the case)”

They may be impulsive, struggle to pay attention. It is hard at times to retain information it can appear alongside but not always exclusive to Autistic Spectrum Conditions Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Behavioural Management which can sometimes but not always include Mental Health problems as a consequence.

Help is available through your school, GP, hospital setting where you may see a medical professional. Finally, possibly a health visitor and nursery setting.

Hope this helps some one and below are some links of information pertaining to ADHD and another article on Autism xxx

Carly’s Amnesty Organisation; The Campaign for Medical Cannabis-based Medicines.

Back in 2018 Carly Jane Mayer a friend and former director of the United Patients Alliance now founder of Carly’s Amnesty Organisation and now.. Cancard. She’d decided that she’d had enough of going to the black market in order to self medicate. She used the last of her savings and saw a specialist who prescribedย her a cannabis based treatment for her health problems. These problems along with fibro myalgia and awful spasms and other painful symptoms was resulting from a stroke in her twenties. This prescription, was to last her for about a month. โค๏ธ

This month’s treatment had cost her over 2000 pounds. Yes 2000 UK pounds for one prescription! She became the first woman to be prescribed Cannabis on the NHS.

However, the NHS said no along with governing bodies NICE UK they set guidelines and decides which medicines are used in the NHS.

Like many others who suffer from chronic pain autoimmune, stomach and bowel disorders such as arthritis, thyroid disorders, diverticulitis and IBS symptoms. They are forced to live in pain or break the law to get access to Cannabis in order to relieve symptoms.

For people who are unable to grow their own medicines some others access cannabis based medicines (CBM’s) via caregivers or underground properly organised Cannabis compassion clubs and Cannabis Social clubs all over the UK including Northern Ireland.

The people that access this way don’t want to fund the black market.

They don’t want to go to criminals who weren’t concerned with you … only how much you’re willing to pay for Cannabis. Where you can’t know the quality of Cannabis and if they’ve been sprayed with pesticides etc..

Most people that I’ve spoken to when attending protests and other events such as conventions want to access cannabis either via the GP (in the UK we have General Practitioners otherwise known as the local community doctor). Or grow their own cannabis in their property.

It’s been nearly two years time since cannabis was legalised for medicinal use here in the UK…

However, it is not available on the NHS except to Billy Caldwell who’s deserving of a prescription and is continuously improving his little life with no seizures..

There are currently only prescriptions are available to the private sector. Anyone who can’t afford to pay privately and obtain Cannabis via their own recognizance, will be arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.

This is where Cancard comes in, the Cancard is a card you can show if stopped by the police. This is backed by the UK Police Federation and many of the cannabis community are signing up. This would protect the card owner and tells the officer that you’re consuming Cannabis as a patient.

While it’s not a get out of jail free card. It does give the opportunity for the officer to determine a genuine patient whose forced to resort to source cannabis via the black market who can’t grow their own medicines.

Or the patient who has decided to grow or source cannabis seeds and grow into medicines from the criminal who just wants to make a profit. Then they can make a decision on where it’s in the public’s interest to arrest and prosecute you…

To sign up or for information on Cancard (there is also a card to protect the people who pay for the prescription..

However, if you are lucky enough to be able to afford a private prescription you could keep a hard or electronic copy of your prescription saving you the money on a card.

But for those who cannot afford a prescription for cannabis, please check out the website below!
